Jen Rabung, RDN, RYT, CEDS
A trauma-informed yoga instructor and registered dietitian specializing in eating disorder recovery.
Step 1: Befriending Your Body™ Program
In this program you will develop a new respectful and trusting relationship with your body, food and self for integrated and lasting healing and freedom! Through learning the necessary skills of embodiment and self-compassion for emotional regulation and self-discovery, you will learn how the internal workings of your body and nervous system can actually help you to regulate the tough emotions that block recovery and keep you stuck.
You will also learn how self-compassion soothes the toughest moments and keeps you moving forward. This program was developed through Dr. Ann Saffi Biasetti’s doctoral research, the writing of her book, a pilot study on the program, and over 34 years of her clinical knowledge working with those struggling with disordered eating and body image issues.
Dr. Biasetti’s book, Befriending Your Body: A Self-Compassionate Approach to Freeing Yourself From Disordered Eating, is the companion book to the program. Each week we will unfold a new understanding through the internal language of your body, and how to see recovery in a new way, through lectures, guided practices and self-reflections.
This program is for you if:
You feel stuck in cycles with food or your body
You’re tired of trying to fix or control yourself
You want a compassionate, non-diet approach
You’re ready to understand your body instead of fight it
You’re looking for both guidance and community
You don’t have to stay at war with your body.
BFYB™ is a unique trauma-informed 8-week Somatic Self-Compassion Recovery program teaching you the skills of embodiment and self-compassion for disordered eating and making peace with your body, food and self!
Based on the Polyvagal Theory and the evidence-based practices of interoceptive awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness. It offers a new view on healing your relationship with your body and food, and the path back to embodiment.
Step 2: Befriending Circle
In this program you will continue to develop a respectful, responsive, and compassionate relationship with your body—one that is supported through ongoing practice, reflection, and community.
This circle is designed for alumni of Befriending Your Body™ who want to stay connected to the work in a way that feels sustainable, gentle, and real.
Rather than starting over, this is a space to continue.
Within The Befriending Circle, you will be supported in:
Deepening your ability to listen to and respond to your body’s cues with curiosity and care
Navigating challenges and “setbacks” with greater compassion and less self-judgment
Strengthening nervous system regulation through consistent, embodied practice
Staying connected to the principles of this work in everyday life
Experiencing community with others who understand the nuance of this process
This is not a space for perfection, performance, or pressure.
It is a space for:
Permission
Practice
Presence
Humanness
Together, we create an environment where you can return to yourself—again and again—without needing to prove, fix, or change who you are.
The Befriending Circle is a continued support space for alumni of Befriending Your Body™ who want to stay connected to the work in a gentle, sustainable way.
